City Considering Nuisance Party Ordinance

At the request of the Xenia Police Division and City Law Department, City Council introduced a new "Nuisance Party" Ordinance, which will likely be voted on at the next regularly schedule meeting on June 27th.

It was noted that over the last several months, the Xenia PD have responded to several complaints of large parties. Most recently was a party where approximately 250 people were in attendance, at a 432 square foot residence. The party had spilled over into the streets and neighborhood. Party goers were blocking streets, using drugs, and refused to leave when the Police Department arrived. As a result 7 officers from Xenia, and several others from 8 other departments responded.

Changes to Ankeney Mill Road Intersection

The City Council introduced an ordinance at last nights meeting, to eliminate all the existing "No Turn on Red During School Hours" signs and limitions at the intersection of Ankeney Mill Road and North Detroit Street.

The proposal would remove all the current "No turn on Red During School Hours"signs. A recent site vist by the City's Engineering & Police Divisions revealed that there is "more than adequate sight distance" at that intersection, with one exception..

The recommendation is to include a new "No Turn on Red" sign for traffic turing off E. Ankeney Mill Road, heading north onto North Detroit Street.
